Directions from Geneva Airport Collect car from Swiss side of the Airport (www.holidayautos.co.uk have been recommended as well priced), then the car will be licensed to use the Swiss motorways and usually fitted with winter tyres and carrying snow chains (also access to pick-up and drop-off point is much easier). Come out of the airport and follow signs for France and Chamonix, (motorway signs in Switzerland are green and in France they are blue). There are 8 sets of traffic lights, at the 8th set the road bears left then take the first right. Do be careful not to miss this sharp right turn down onto the dual carriageway/motorway (A1 or A1A) into France towards Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Carry on the A401/E21/E62 and rejoin the A40/E21/E25 following signs for Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Follow the A40/E25 and exit the motorway at Cluses Scionzier (J 18). From Cluses to Morillon follow the signposts for Samoëns (D902). After the "Col de Châtillon", you will find signposts for Morillon. You will see the right hand turn (almost going straight on) on a left hand hairpin bend. Follow this road (D4) into Morillon. Go under the arch
inscribed “Morillon – Grand Massif”. After 0.4 of a mile
(0.64km.) there is a church on the left and opposite it a right hand
turn for Morillon 1100/Les Esserts.
Follow this twisty road up and you will reach the resort. |
